
Minnesota Paid Leave Law
In 2023, Minnesota legislators enacted a new law establishing a comprehensive paid leave program for employees who are unable to work due to a serious health condition (their own or a family member’s), a qualifying exigency, safety leave, bonding leave, or pregnancy and recovery. Funded by contributions from both employers and employees, the program allows employers the choice to participate in the state-run plan or offer a private plan with equal benefits.
