Overview

Overview

Laura Isenor brings more than a decade of county prosecution experience to Eckberg Lammers’ Municipal Prosecution group. She spent over ten years as a county prosecutor in Koochiching and Steele Counties, Minnesota, where she managed criminal and child protection cases and helped lead systemic improvements within the local court system.

From there, Laura’s career took a turn toward educational rights advocacy. She represented children receiving special education services and regularly trained families and professionals on educational rights and special education law — work that gave her a close-up view of how state systems intersect with families’ day-to-day lives.

That perspective carried into her role as Chief Legal Counsel for the Office of Inspector General within the Minnesota Department of Education. There, she provided legal support for fraud and child maltreatment investigations, guided the OIG’s overall operations, and led initiatives to strengthen investigative collaboration with other state agencies. She also served as daily legal counsel on state and federal data practices, ethics, and regulatory compliance.

Before law school, Laura worked with the Community Prosecution unit of the National District Attorney’s Association and later the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children — early experience that shaped her long-standing commitment to child protection.

Laura was recently appointed to the Minnesota Council on Disability. Outside the office, she volunteers with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and can usually be found long-distance running, camping, painting, or spending time with her family.
